Project: ‘Wine House’, Queensbridge Street, Southbank (2008)

In 2008, McDonald Coleman Architects designed a new hospitality and retail venue in, and adjacent to, the south wing of the former Castlemaine Brewery which is included in the Heritage Overlay of the Melbourne Planning Scheme.  The ‘Wine House’ accommodated a premium wine retail facility on the ground floor and a restaurant, outdoor terrace and function room at first floor level. Extensive re-use was made of bricks and timber recycled from a warehouse originally located on the site.
